Child's trailer Accessory 

The child's trailer is only available for hire with Achill Bikes adult bicycle hire. It cannot be attached to any other bicycle.

SAFETY FIRST:

• This trailer is designed for use on paved road surfaces. Do NOT take it off-road where it could overturn.
• Pulling a trailer changes bicycle operation - starting, stopping and turning are all affected.
• Children must always wear the seatbelt, shoulder straps and helmet.
• Dress children appropriately to prevent them getting chilled or overheated while riding.
• Not for use with children under 18 months old. The child must be able to support his/her own head with a helmet on!
• Do not exceed 30kg total load weight.
• For one child, use the centre of the seat. Maximum 2 passengers, maximum passenger height 1.05m.
• Instruct children NOT to rock, bounce or lean.
• Never remove the protective canopy when children are in the trailer. It protects the child from road debris.
• Use the safety flag.
• Extra items placed in the trailer may make it unstable.
• Do not attempt to install any other seating system in the trailer.

CYCLING with TRAILER TIPS:

• Ride defensively and signal your turns.
• The trailer is WIDE, so you need a wide turning radius.
• Allow extra clearance near curbs and obstacles.
• Do not turn sharply.
• Do not exceed 20mph / 25kph, and take care cycling down steep hills.
